Copyright issues
Copyright on photographs and publications is complicated by both English and European law, and international agreements on material considered to be in the ‘public domain’. This website takes a cautious approach and includes images we believe to have been published before 1940, although it is not always possible to be certain of the date of publication. Other postcards in our collection are listed here without images. If you are interested to see these cards, please apply to Bexhill Old Town Preservation Society, 8 High Street, Bexhill Old Town TN40 2HA, telephone: 01424 732642.
If you believe that, despite this policy, we are infringing any copyright, please contact us on the above address or telephone number.
The copyright of the scanned images on this website is held by Bexhill Old Town Preservation Society.
How to use this archive of postcards of old Bexhill:

- you can select an area of the town from the menu on the left;
- you can select a road or feature within an area, to view only the cards that interest you;
- you can use the Search box for a word in the title or description of the card.
Leave a comment or add your own collection
It will be of great interest to students of Bexhill history to read your explanatory comments on the images, and perhaps your reminiscences of the period and the places shown. Comments are moderated, so may not show immediately. Please report any inappropriate comments or language.
If you have postcards of the area (especially scenes we don’t already have) we would be delighted to scan them and add them to this site. Please just leave us a message.

We reserve the right to ask commercial organisations to make a small contribution to our charitable activities in return for use of our images.
